Joanne Wai graduated with a diploma in hospitality management from Taylor’s College, but it was while pursuing a degree in events management at the University of Wollongong, Utropolis Glenmarie that she fell in love with hospitality. In 2017, she was selected to represent Malaysia to serve at Brunei’s Golden Jubilee event. After completing her degree, she left her hometown, Kuala Lumpur, and began her career journey in Singapore with Two Michelin-starred Saint Pierre as Chef de Rang.

Thereafter, Joanne moved to Cloudstreet where she further honed her skills as Assistant Restaurant Manager for two years, during which time the restaurant was awarded its Michelin stars. She returned to Saint Pierre in 2023 to take on the role of Restaurant Manager. Aside from overseeing the training of a young and passionate front of house team to ensure top-notch service and warm hospitality, Joanne also works closely with Chef-Owner Emmanuel Stroobant and Head Sommelier Wyman Kok to elevate the overall guest experience. With her effervescent personality, Joanne loves engaging with Saint Pierre’s guests to offer a personalised and exceptional dining experience.
